PREPARE

  • Gather Materials- Gather materials based on the alternative format you selected.  
  • Seek Support- Ask your teacher, tutor, peer or parent for support as needed. 

APPLY

When you are given an assignment that may seem challenging, request the option of completing the assignment in an alternative way. Below are some ideas you might consider:

  1. Creative Options:
    1. Create a product or artwork such as a poem, song, sculpture or model 
    2. Design a brochure or flyer or poster
  2. Performance or Presentation Options:
    1. Deliver a formal presentation or set up a class or small group debate
    2. Act out a scene from a play, or perform a historical speech
    3. Film or produce a short documentary to re-create a historical event
  3. Digital or Multimedia Options:
    1. Design a website or produce a video explaining a concept
    2. Record a podcast 
  4. Research and Writing Options:
    1. Write a letter, book chapter or anthology
  5. Problem Solving Options:
    1. Create a proposal for a real-world product or solution
    2. Write and perform and interview 
    3. Design an experiment to test a scientific hypothesis
