REVIEW
- Review Audio Recorded Lessons video
- Review additional resources for a variety of different audio recording devices
- Decide how you will apply this strategy
PREPARE
- Gather Materials- Set up your selected audio recording device
- Seek Support- Get permission from your teacher or tutor if recording their lessons.
APPLY
- When you are in class, you can use your audio recording device to record the contents of the class. You should get permission from your teacher before recording and also ensure this recording is not shared or used for any other purpose other than reviewing course content.
- If using the audio memos or audio recorder on your phone;
- Open the Voice Memos app, which is pre-installed on iPhones.
- Locate the Voice Recorder app, often found in your app drawer. If you don’t see it, download one from the Google Play Store.
- Turn on your audio recording device and record content in small chunks so you don’t have to listen to the entire class again. Make sure to title each recording so it is easy to find later.
- Go back and review your recordings at your own pace and take notes to remember important concepts you don’t want to forget.
- If you are using a recording tool with a speech to text option like Otter.AI, you will be able to view the content easily by listening to it or reading it. Highlight any important details from the text.
