- Seek Support- Ask your teacher, tutor, parent or peer for support as needed.
APPLY
Before Contacting the Teacher
- Check the rubric- Think about what you need feedback on (e.g., a specific assignment, a skill you’re trying to improve).
- Gather your thoughts: Consider your strengths and weaknesses related to the topic, and how you can improve.
How to Ask
- In-Person: Ask after class, then schedule a longer meeting if you need more time.
- By Email:
Use a clear subject line: Something like “Feedback Request- [Your Name] – [Course Name]”.
Be polite: Start with a greeting, such as “Good morning, Teacher’s name,”.
Introduce yourself: State your name and the class you’re in.
State your purpose: Be direct and say you want to discuss your progress or a specific assignment.
Provide context: Explain what you’ve been working on and what you’re struggling with.
Be specific about what you need: Ask for feedback on your assignment, structure,
or another concrete aspect of your work.
Suggest a meeting: If you need a longer discussion, ask if they have time for a meeting.
Thank them: Express your gratitude for their time and effort.
